Drawing on Earth, and Mark Lewis Wagner
Drawing On Earth has been chalk drawing at the Oakland Zoo on EARTH DAY for years. This year Founder and Director of Drawing on Earth, Mark Lewis Wagner will be creating a solo off-site chalk drawing for Earth Day, April 22, 2020. The Oakland Zoo an DoE are inviting everyone to join in and make some Art for Earth Day, pencil and paper, computer, paint, a dance, poem, draw in the dirt, a song, find some chalk.

These are crazy times for sure, and don’t let them be an excuse to be off center. The Arts, all the arts are one of the main forces to help stay the course, to use your time and energy wisely, going in and exploring the unseen worlds in yourself, and then share this with all of us. “You are the one you have been looking for.”
Creative Blessings to all,
~MLW, Drawing on Earth, and the ZOO

Drawing on Earth is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that Connects Art and Creativity to Youth and Communities Around the World. Our first project set a Guinness World Record for the largest chalk drawing. We covered 90,000 sq. ft. of pavement, had 6,000 people helping, most of them elementary school kids, and we got a satellite to take a photo of the art. So far we have drawn on 3 continents and work with approx. 30,000 kids.
